Presided over Tajik Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqi Zavqizoda and Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Inam Kerimov, the 5th session of the Tajikistan-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation took place in Dushanbe on February 23.  

The parties agreed to expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation and outlined sectors like agriculture, industry, transportation, investment, education, science, modern technologies and tourism as areas which could drive he bilateral trade between the two countries, according to the press enter of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan (MoEDT).

They reportedly also discussed issues related to launching joint agribusinesses (agri-industrial enterprises) and tech parks in Tajikistan’s free economic zones with attraction of Azerbaijani investors, importing petroleum products and clustering value chains in the agrarian sector.
