The fourth-year student of Tajik Institute of Finance and Economics, Rustam Fayziyev, 21, and a 35-year-old resident of Dushanbe, Huvaydo Sadirov, have been detained for robbery, according to the press center of the Interior Ministry’s in Dushanbe.

They have reportedly committed robbery using masks and electric shock stick.  

In late November, they burst into apartment of Gulnora Chekushina, beat apartment owners and seized 1,200 somoni (equivalent to little more than 100 U.S. dlollars) and 400 somoni worth of bijouterie, the press center said.

Fayziyev and Sadirov have been detained and criminal proceedings have been institute against them under the provisions of Article 247 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – robbery; an investigation is under way.

Two other residents of Dushanbe have also been detained for burglary recently.  On December 6, they reportedly burst into the house of the 82-year-old man on Rahimov Street, beat him and seized 2,600 somoni (equivalent to little more than 250 U.S. dollars).  Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them and an investigation is under way.
