The Islamic countries with the help of each other could overcome terrorism and compel them to withdraw, Mahmoud Erol Kilic, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states (PUIC) said in his opening address to the event in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on January 16.
The 13th session of the PUIC began in Tehran earlier on Tuesday with a speech by President Rouhani who urged the need to 'solve our problems through peaceful solutions,' according to IRNA.
'We support constructive interaction in the Islamic World with each other based on equal footage, in which there is no room for foreign interference and exploitation,' said the Iranian president.
Kilic reportedly hoped that Muslim countries would have constructive cooperation.
He further urged the Islamic parliaments to play effective role in dealing with the crucial issue of the Muslim world.
The 13th PUIC Conference will end its work on tomorrow by issuing a final statement.
The Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) is composed of the parliaments of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states. It was established in Iran on June 17, 1999, with its head office situated in Tehran.
Tajikistan joined the OIC Parliamentary Union in 2006.
