Tajik President Emomali Rahmon today received Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Belarusian Prime Minister Syarhey Rumas, who arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the 17 the meeting of the  Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of Government, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

In the course of the talks with Russian premier, Rahmon noted that Tajikistan attached significant importance to further expansion of strategic partnership with the Russian Federation. 

The two sides reportedly discussed issues related to  increasing export of Tajik fruits and vegetables to Russia’s regions and speeding up the process of financing by Russia of establishment of transport and logistics centers in Tajikistan. 

They also exchanged views on expansion of cooperation between Dushanbe and Moscow in providing regional security.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Belarusian Prime Minister Syarhey Rumas reportedly discussed state and prospects of further expansion trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Belarus.  It was noted that Dushanbe and Minsk would sign an agreement on strategic partnership in the near future.
