Kyrgyz MPs have endorsed the candidacy of new Kyrgyzstan’s ambassador to Tajikistan, according to 24.kg news agency.

The Jogorqu Kenesh (Supreme Council) Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security has reportedly endorsed the candidacy of Zhanysh Rustenbekov as new Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan.  

He will replace Miroslav Niyazov, who had served as Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan since June 6, 2014.

Zhanysh Rustenbekov, is currently Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Turkmenistan.

Zhanysh Rustenbekov was born in the village of Oktyabrskoyev of Issyk-Atin district of Chuy region on September 25, 1949.  He graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute in 1973.

In different years, Rustenbekov had served as State Secretary to Kyrgyz President, Governor of Kyrgyzstan’s Osh Region, Member of Jogorqu Kenesh (Kyrgyzstan’s parliament), Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan and Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
