On Friday November 2, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met here with Saudi Interior Minister Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, they discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 

Rahmon reportedly noted that Tajikistan attached significance to its cooperation with Saudi Arabia and considered it an important partner in international relations.  

The two sides paid a special attention to the issues related to establishing security, peace and accord in Afghanistan and expanding cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, transnational organized crime and drug trafficking.   

Emomali Rahmon and Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef also discussed economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.  

It is to be noted that Saudi companies invested 160.2 million U.S. dollars in Tajikistan’s economy in 2007-2017. 

Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (born November 4, 1983) is the Minister of Interior of Saudi Arabia since 21 June 2017, a position held earlier by his uncle and grandfather.  Prince Saud is a graduate of the Dhahran Ahliyyah School and King Saud University.  After King Salman came to power, Abdulaziz was appointed as an adviser to the Royal Court in various departments and later served as an adviser in the Defense Ministry.

He is the eldest son of Prince Saud bin Nayef (former Head of the Saudi Crown Prince Court) who is the eldest son of the former Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz.
