Dushanbe authorities have raised passenger public transport fares.  Beginning on March 1, a ticket for travel in minibuses running on fixed routes will cost 1.60 somoni.

According to Dushanbenaqliyot (Dushanbe municipal transport service agency), the trolleybus ticket, previously 70 dirams (0.70 somoni), now costs 1.00 somoni.

The bus ticket now costs 1.20 somoni and a ticket for the express bus now costs 1.50 somoni.

A ticket for suburban fixed-route minibuses now costs 2.00 somoni.

Dushanbenaqliyot says new tariffs have been coordinated with the Antimonopoly agency and companies dealing with ridership.

By Dushanbe mayor’s decree issued on December 15 all of the public transport such as buses, trolleybuses and fixed-route taxi vans in Dushanbe are now free for pensioners above 75.

The pensioners will have to show free travel vouchers or free travel electronic cards.

According to the statistical data, 9,091 pensioners above 75 now live in Dushanbe.

The Dushanbe municipal transport service agency says the free travel vouchers will be issued to the pensioners by the social care departments at the places of residence.
