DUSHANBE, August 26, 2009, Asia-Plus -- it is better to sell surplus electricity at low prices than discharge water in vain, the source at Barqi Tojik power holding told Asia-plus, commenting prices for electricity being supplied to Uzbekistan.
According to him, 1.5 cents are a net value of electricity without value added tax (VAT) and transit expenses. “If to calculate all the costs the price of one kWh of electricity for customer will be much higher than 1.5 cents,” said the source, “However, it is better to sell surplus electricity at low prices than discharge water in vain.”
The source added that this year, waters have been enough to fill up the reservoir powering the Norak hydroelectricity station to the highest level.
