DUSHANBE, January 26, 2011, Asia-Plus -- An initiative group numbering 37 people have set up the Society of Friendship of Tajikistan and Luxembourg, Tajik MFA information department reports.
The organizing meeting has elected the chairman of the society and the society board members. The society board members include one member of Luxembourg parliament (Chamber of Deputies), three lawyers, two engineers, two businessmen and two university teachers. Samvel Arakelyan was elected chairman of the society.
The society has been put on the list of public associations of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the source said.
Luxembourg is a member of the European Union, NATO, OECD, the United Nations, Benelux, and the Western European Union, reflecting the political consensus in favor of economic, political, and military integration. The city of Luxembourg, the capital and largest city, is the seat of several institutions and agencies of the European Union.
