Tajikistan is participating in the Paralympic Winter Games for the first time.

Siyovoush Ilyosov will represent Tajikistan in the 2018 Paralympic Games, which will kick off in Pyeongchang, South Korea on March 9.

According to the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Tajikistan, Siyovoush Ilyosov will compete in the cross-country skiing discipline.

Ilyosov reportedly qualified for the 2018 Paralympic Games scoring 392 points at the qualification competition in Germany.  

The 2018 Winter Paralympics, officially known as the XII Paralympic Winter Games, and commonly known as the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics, is an international winter multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities that is scheduled to be held in Pyeongchang County, Gangwon Province, South Korea, from Mach 9-18, as governed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). 

Competitions in the 2018 Winter Paralympics will be held in six Winter Paralympic sports, with 80 medal events in total:  Alpine skiing; Biathlon; Cross-country skiing; Ice sledge hockey; Snowboarding; and Wheelchair curling.
