A new theatrical season has opened in Tajikistan.

The Tajik Academic Drama Theater named after Abulqosim Lohouti was the first to open its new season.

The theater opened its 89th season on August 29 by “The Blind Love” performance staged on the play by Tajik playwright Majid Salim.  

The remaining theaters will open their new seasons after the Independence Day celebrations because many artistes participate in the main Independence Day celebrations that will take place at the Navrouzgoh State Complex in Dushanbe on September 9.  


The Tajik Opera and Ballet Theater named after Sadriddin Ayni will open its new 78th season on September by “The Bat” operetta by J. Strauss.  

Besides, the Opera and Ballet Theater will also begin presenting “The Adventures of Chipollino” opera to young viewers from September 20.  

The Russian Drama Theater named after Vladimir Mayakovski will start its new 81st season by “Tartuffe”, one of the most famous theatrical comedies by Molière, staged by the Theater main director Bahodur Miralibekov.
