From September 16 to September 19, in Dushanbe, the III International Festival of Short Films "Navsoz" is held.

As Mukhibnazar Kholnazarov, director of public organization “Navsoz” said, this year more than 50 films submitted for participation in the festival, but only 20 of them chosen for the show.

This year, the festival will feature five films from Tajikistan, three from Kazakhstan, two from Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, the United States and Belarus.

According to Kholnazarov, until today, neither public nor private organizations have supported the project with finances. «We ourselves collect money for the festival», - he noted.

The Film Festival is dedicated to the Year of Tourism and Folk Crafts Development. The screening of films within the framework of the festival will take place at the “Vatan” cinema. The opening ceremony is on September 16 at 18:00. Summing up the results of the festival will be held on August 20.

According to the organizers, within the framework of the film festival a contest will be held in 3 nominations - "Best International Feature Film", "Best Documentary" and "Best Animated Film". There will also be one republican nomination.

From Tajikistan, at the festival will be shown short films "Baruchrd" («Hassle ») by Firdavs Ninu, «Kukol» («Potter») by Jumaboy Rasulov, «Umarako» («Brother Umar») by Daler Imomali, «Mizrobi falak» by Rustam Shoazimov, «Honai mehr» («House of Love») by Bobojon Muhtojov.

The international festival of short films "Navsoz" held for the first time in 2016 in honor of the 25th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Last year the film festival held from 16 to 20 September, in which 22 short films were show.
