Kazakhstan intends to introduce ban on import of 92-octane gasoline from Russia, Deputy Minister of Energy, Bolat Akchulakov, told reporters in Astana yesterday, according to BNews.kz.

According to him, they have made a decision to introduce ban on import of 92-octane gasoline from Russian in connection with oversupply of this type of gasoline in the country.

“All consumers feel – the price does no rise and it now even lower than in January or December last year.  The order is currently under consideration at the Ministry of Justice.  I think it will be issued on August 10,” Akchulakov noted.

According to him, the order will come into force ten days after registration.  “All the railway stations in both countries will be notified,” said Akchulakov.

Meanwhile, Russia News Today says Kazakhstan will introduce a temporary ban on the import into the Republic of Russian petrol by rail.

The draft order of the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, providing for a three-month ban on import of gasoline from Russia, has reportedly been brought to public discussion.
