Growth of Kyrgyzstan’s GDP reached 7.6 percent in 2008, which is KGS180.13,6 billion, the Kyrgyz National Statistics Committee reported.
Without considering enterprises of Kumtor mining the GDP would have hit 5.4 percent, or KGS176.598,8 billion.
It is worth mentioning that in 2007 the GDP growth made 8.5 percent, and without Kumtor mining enterprises – 9 percent.
As the National Bank says Kyrgyzstan experienced an investment slowdown and construction rates decrease in 2008. According to its early forecasts the specific weight of GDP investments would drop from 26.3 to 25.5 percent mostly because of private investments’ cutback.
