The chairman of the National Bank, Grigory Marchenko, at the selector government session said that he expects increase of sale of dollars in the market of currencies in Kazakhstan, the agency reports.
"The rate in currency exchangers has become stronger, 147 - sale, 149 - purchase. On Friday, tenge at the stock exchange has become stronger, all devaluation expectations have been eliminated," G. Marchenko said.
"Many people and enterprises in January bought dollars and waited for devaluation and now they need to pay both taxes and municipal charges in tenge, therefore, people have started to convert dollars back into tenge and we saw that on Friday there was a surplus of dollar supply. Today we expect that the banks and their clients will be selling dollars," the chairman of the National Bank said.
