A large number of Uzbek citizens can only buy products in specific shops equipped with special sales registers, because they were obliged to use plastic cards to get their salaries. The use of these plastic cards has increased people''s expenses by 25-30% and decreased the buying power of Uzbek citizens.
The report stressed that workers started receiving their salaries on plastic cards without agreeing to this change in payment method. In addition, it is hard to withdraw money from cash machines, because there is limited number of appropriate machines.
