Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldi Annaamanov was dismissed for serious shortcomings in work. At a government meeting on 3 July, after Attorney General Chary Hodzhamyradov reported on the cases of bribery revealed at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Azadi, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov severely criticized the minister for failing to provide proper leadership at the institute.
Gulshat Mammedova, who worked as deputy minister of education in charge of schools and childcare facilities, was appointed new Minister of Education of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the president also dismissed Rector of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan Maya Durdyeva for shortcomings in work. Ahatmyrat Nuvvaev was appointed to this position.
Gurtnyyaz Hanmyradov, who previously held the post of vice-rector for scientific work at the Turkmen State University named after Makhtumkuli, was appointed new rector of the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after S. Seidi.
