Another round of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani talks on the Caspian Sea began in the Azerbaijani capital yesterday. The meeting between the expert groups of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan headed by Deputy Foreign Ministers will conclude on July 17.
The current meeting is another phase of Turkmen-Azerbaijani negotiations on the delimitation of the seabed and subsoil of the Caspian Sea. As part of negotiations, the sides plan to exchange views on the two countries'' approach to their activities in the Caspian Sea such as shipping, fisheries, hydrology, meteorology and related issues.
"With regard to the position of Turkmenistan on the delimitation of the seabed and subsoil of the Caspian Sea between the two countries, it seeks to reach an agreement based on international laws and principles of justice," the press service of the foreign ministry said.
