President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received a message from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who cordially congratulated the leader and people of Turkmenistan on Independence Day.
"The United Nations is a unique place to mobilize collective effort that we need to achieve success, Ban Ki-moon noted. The challenges that we face, including combating climate change and doubling our efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, lead to a greater degree of cooperation than confrontation. In performing this mission, the United Nations immensely satisfied that it can rely on the contribution, commitment and support of Turkmenistan."
A congratulatory message from the UN Secretary General was published in central printed media of Turkmenistan, the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports from Ashgabat.
