DUSHANBE, November 20, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Tajik judokas won two gold and one silver medals in an international tournament that was held in St. Petersburg, Russia on November 17-18, Murodali Teshayev, a spokesman for Tajikistan’s National Olympic Committee (NOC), told Asia-Plus today.
According to him, four Tajik athletes took part in the tournament.
“Khoushbakht Qurbonmamadov (-60 kg) and Niyoz Asmatbekov (-90 kg) won gold medals and Artur Salomatshoyev won silver, finishing second in the -81 kg category,” Teshayev said, noting that the fourth Tajik judoka, Alinazar Shamirov, took the third place in his weight category.
