DUSHANBE, February 23, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The republican alpine skiing competition is expected to take place at the Safedorak base in the Varzob district from February 26-28, according to the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan.
Organized by the physical training and sports department within the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs, the event is expected to bring together alpine skiers from various regions of the country.
The main objective of the competition is to attract local youth to this type of winter sports, the source said.
