DUSHANBE, March 5, 2010, Asia-Plus  -- On the occasion of the Navrouz holiday, the republican gushtingiri (Tajik national wrestling) competition will take place in Danghara, Khatlon province from March 18-19.

According to the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan, 16 teams from all regions of the country will gather in Danghara for the gushtingiri competition.

“30 athletes from Dushanbe, 10 from Sughd province, 5 from Tursunzoda, 6 from Roudaki, 4 from Varzob, 3 from Jirgatol, 3 from Tojikobod, 3 from Tavildara, 3 from Nourobod, 4 from Hissar, 4 from Shahrinav and four from Roghun will arrive in Danghara for the competition,” the source said.
