Two more Tajik sportsmen will go to the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games scheduled for July 27 – August 12.
In his interview to AP head of the Tajik Olympic Committee’s working group Muhamadsho Abdulloev said Tajikistan got two more licenses for the 2012 London Olympics. Licenses were provided to swimmers and athletes.
Licenses were given to Ekaterina Izmailova (swimming, freestyle, 50m) and Vladislava Ovcharenko (light athletics, 200m sprint) through the Wild-Card system. Licenses were allocated in accordance with the decision made by the International Olympic Committee, related international federations and National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan.
Therefore, a total of 15 Tajik sportsmen will go to the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games. Other Tajik sportsmen who qualified for the 2012 London Olympics are Dilshod Nazarov (light athletics, hammer throwing), Alisher Gulov and Farhod Negmatov (taekwondo WTF), Anvar Yunusov, Sobirjon Nazarov, Jahon Kurbonov and Mavzuna Chorieva (boxing), Rasul Bokiev and Parviz Sobirov (Judo), Iskandari Rustam, Yusuf Abdusalomov, Zelimkhan Yusupov and Nikolay Noev (freestyle wrestling).
According to Mr.Abdulloev, Tajikistan has a chance to get two more licenses for Farhod Kuralov (light athletics) and Sergei Babikov (shooting).
