DUSHANBE, January 15, 2016, Asia-Plus -- President Rahmon’s son, Rustam Emomali, has been reelected as president of the Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF) for the second term.
A conference to hear reports of the Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF) and elect new TFF officials took place at the Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel on January 15.
Rustam Emomali was the only candidate and received all the 64 votes.
Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda, chairman of the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs Akhtam Abdullozoda, FC Istiqlol President Shorukh Saidov and coaches Sharif Nazarov, Muhsin Muhammadiyev, Muzaffar Ishoqov, Isroil Sharipov, Fathullo Jalilov, Barotali Homidzoda and Farhod Sayfiddinov were elected as members of the TFF Executive Committee.
Established on December 25, 1991, the Tajikistan Football Federation is the governing body of football in Tajikistan. The Federation was accepted by the international community including the continental and global associations in 1994. Mirzo Mahmadjonov was the first president of the Tajikistan Football Federation. Suhrob Qosimov headed the TFF from 2002 to 2012 and Rustam Emomali has headed the Federation since January 2012.
We will recall that President Emomali Rahmon appointed his eldest son, Rustam Emomali, to head the country’s anticorruption agency on March 16, 2015.
Rustam Emomali had been running Tajikistan''s Customs Service since late 2013.
His predecessor at the anticorruption agency, Abdufattoh Ghoib, was named as the Customs Service''s new chief.
