DUSHANBE , April 7, Asia-Plus - Today Tajikistan is marking a World Health Day.  

On this occasion, the World Health Organization (WHO) Dushanbe Office is holding a scientific conference at the “Kokhi Vahdat” State Complex in Dushanbe today.  

According to information from the WHO Dushanbe Office, representatives from the health ministry and other organizations of the country are taking part in the conference’s work.  

Besides, scientific conference on this occasion will be held at Tajik Medical University today as well.  

This year, World Health Day is marked under the motto of “Working Together for Health”.  The World Health Report 2006 published today says an acute shortage of health workers is having a devastating impact on many country’s ability to fight disease and improve health.  The report outlines the need for more investment in the health workforce and sets out a 10-year plan to address the crisis.
