United States provides $523,000 in technical assistance to Tajik border service

, May 10, Asia-Plus -- An official handover of technical assistance provided by the
United States
was held in
Dushanbe
on May 10.
According to information from the Committee for Protection of the State Border of Tajikistan, a US$529,000 worth of technical assistance included vehicles, generators and contraband detection kits and other needed supplies.
The Tajik border service source says the aid was provided within the framework the Tajik-Afghan border control strengthening project.
Mr. Denver Fleming, Adviser to the U.S. Embassy in
Dushanbe
for Legal and Justice Matters, and Colonel Muzaffar Abdulloyev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Protection of the State Border of Tajikistan for Ammunition and Materiel, and others attended the aid-handover ceremony.
