DUSHANBE, June 21, Asia-Plus - Republican scientific-practical conference formally titled “Contribution of Media to Strengthening of State Independence” was held in Dushanbe on June 20.

According to information from the National Association of the Independent Media of Tajikistan (Nansmit), the conference dedicated to the 15 ^th anniversary of Tajikistan ’s Independence was held by the President’s Executive Office.  

The source says some 20 papers were given at the conference.  Participants at the conference thoroughly considered issues related to a role of media in formation and strengthening of state independence of Tajikistan .  During the conference it was noted that holding of such events facilitated further expansion of cooperation between the government and independent media and raising their role in tackling problems facing society.
