The Duke of York arriving in Tajikistan today

The second son of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, The Duke of York, or Prince Andrew as he is also known, is arriving in Tajikistan today for a two-day official visit.
DUSHANBE, July, Asia-Plus - His Royal Highness The Duke of York is arriving in Dushanbe today for a two-day official visit, according to information from the Tajik MFA. The Duke of York, or Prince Andrew as he is also known, is the second son of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the younger brother of Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales.
The first part of the Prince Andrew’s visit to
Tajikistan
will include a courtesy call on
Tajikistan
’s President Emomali Rahmonov. The two are supposed to consider issues related to further expansion of bilateral cooperation between
Tajikistan
and the
United Kingdom
.
The main aim of the visit of The Duke of York is to open officially the new premises of the British Embassy in
Dushanbe
. A ceremony of official opening of the Embassy will be held today afternoon. On the same day His Royal Highness will also attend the annual celebration of The Queen’s Birthday Party at the British Ambassador’s Residence which this year celebrates the 80
th
birthday of Queen Elizabeth.
The Duke of York will also spend one day in Khatlon province where he will visit the district of Jomi and the city of
Qurghon Teppa
. In Qurghon Teppa, His Royal Highness will visit the city’s mosque and meet young people from different religions who are working together on an inter-faith project. He also will open the new building of the
Sworde-Teppa
English
Center
in Qurghon Teppa.
