QURGHON TEPPA, August 8, Asia-Plus -- Chairman of the executive committee of the organization of Tajikistan’s Agrarian Party (APT) for Khatlon, Abdusalom Mirzoyev, has been relieved of his post of the head of the Qurghon Teppa municipal economy department.
Deputy Qurghon Teppa Mayor, Shamsullo Rajabaliyev, has told Asia-Plus that dismissal of Mr. Mirzoyev is not politically motivated. “He was removed for failing to implement his duties properly,” Shamsullo Rajabaliyev said.
Local experts link dismissal of Abdusalom Mirzoyev to his conflict with mayor at a recent session of the Qurghon Teppa legislature (Majlis).
In the meantime, Mr. Mirzoyev has denied statement by the deputy mayor that he was allegedly dismissed for failing to properly implement his duties as “unfounded.” He confirmed that his dismissal was not politically motivated, and added that he had been dismissed at his own request.
According to Mr. Mirzoyev, a number of the APT members has increased by 180 people in the Kolkhozobod district alone over the past two months, and at present the APT organization in Khatlon has 1,100 members.
