A large-scale rehabilitation of the building of Dushanbe’s bus terminal has begun.

The project to rehabilitate the bus terminal is expected to be finished in March 2012, the terminal deputy director Abduqahhor Kholov said.  “Upon the completion of the rehabilitation of the terminal building, Dushanbe’s bus terminal will be come one of the best bus terminals in the Central Asian region,” Kholov noted.

The Asian-Express Company, which is a new owner of Dushanbe’s bus terminal, has already acquired 20 new German-made comfortable buses “MAN,” the deputy director added.  Starting from March 2012, these buses will be used on domestic long-distance bus routes within Tajikistan.  The company also plans to launch new bus routes between the regions of the country in the future.
