DUSHANBE, January 23, 2015, Asia-Plus -- The Antimonopoly Agency under the Government of Tajikistan is considering the issue of putting Tajikistan-China joint venture, Huaxin Gayur Cement Co., Ltd, on the register of dominant companies in Tajikistan’s cement market.

In a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, the head of the Antimonopoly Agency under the Government of Tajikistan, Abdusamad Rajabzoda, noted on January 22 that Huaxin Gayur Cement Co., Ltd accounted for 75.4 percent of the overall volume of cement produced in Tajikistan last year.

“Therefore, we are studying the issue of putting this company on the register of dominant companies in the country''s cement market,” Rajabzoda said, noting that the cement plant operated by Huaxin Gayur Cement Co., Ltd last year produced nearly 865,000 tons of cement

According to the statistical data from the Antimonopoly Agency, 12 economic entities were engaged in production of cement last year and they produced a total of approximately 1.150 million tons of cement, which was three times more than in 2013.

Operated by Tajikistan-China joint venture, Huaxin Gayur Cement Co., Ltd, the Yovon cement plant (Huaxin Gayur Cement Co., Ltd) with capacity of 1 million tons was introduced into operation in late September 2013.  This coal-powered enterprise now produces several types of cement.

Huaxin Gayur Cement Co., Ltd has reportedly used the latest technologies to build the plant and it will meet regional environmental requirements.

Huaxin Gayur Cement Co., Ltd was established by Huaxin Zhongya Investment (Wuhan) Co., Ltd, the subsidiary of Huaxin Cement Co., Ltd, and Gayur Limited Liability Company.  Huaxin Zhongya Investment (Wuhan) Investment Co., Ltd assumes the 75% ownership interest and Gayur Limited Liability Company owns 25 percent of the shares in Huaxin Gayur Cement Co., Ltd.
