DUSHANBE, October 27, 2015, Asia-Plus – in a report released at the parliamentary hearings, Nusratullo Davlatzoda, the head of the Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan, noted on October 26 that tax collection amount over the first nine months of this year has exceeded 5.8 billion somoni.
Meanwhile, 24 cities and districts have failed to fulfill their targets over the report period. As of October 1, 2015, the tax arrears amounted to 737 million somoni, Tajik chief tax officer said.
According to him, Barqi Tojik (Tajikistan’s national integrated power company) is among the most incorrigible tax evaders.
Barqi Tojik’s tax debts have reportedly risen 38.8 million somoni in nine months to September 30, reaching 151 million somoni.
Davlatzoda noted that state-run enterprises accounted for 43 percent (307 million somoni) of the country’s tax arrears.
