Uzbekistan reportedly intends to abolish fees for entry of Tajikistan’s vehicles in its territory and transit of them via its territory.

“The government of Uzbekistan is considering the issue of abolishing fees for entry of Tajikistan’s road freight transport and buses in Uzbekistan and transit of them via Uzbek territory,” a source in the Tajik government told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, the government of Uzbekistan is expected to issue an appropriate decree on this subject in the near future.

Current transit fee for Tajikistan’s road freight transport and buses is 180.00 U.S. dollars.

Meanwhile, the entry and transit fee for foreign vehicles crossing the Tajik-Uzbek border is 265.00 U.S.
