The Tajik authorities are seeking investments for rehabilitation of two hotels and reportedly intend to sell Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel shares by auction.

According to the website of the State unitary Enterprise Tajinvest, the project aimed at rehabilitating and modernizing “Vakhsh” Hotel in Dushanbe costs 4 million U.S. dollars and the cost of the project aimed at rehabilitating and modernizing “Dushanbe” Hotel in the Tajik capital is 8 million U.S. dollars.   

Another investment project reportedly provides for selling Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel shares.

Meanwhile, employees Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel neither confirmed nor denied this information.  “We do not have such information,” they said.  

Recall, an official opening of a five-star Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel was held on March 21, 2009.  

Russkiye Oteli (Russian Hotels) Company invested in the construction of the Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel and its affiliate – the limited liability company Sozidaniye – acted as contractor.  The general contractor for this project was ENKA Insaat Ve Sanayi A.Sh.

Hyatt Regency Dushanbe features 202 well-appointed guestrooms and suites.  All feature an LCD television, an in-room safe, a work desk with high-speed broadband Internet connectivity, a multi-line telephone with voice mail, and tea- and coffee-making facilities.

The Tajik Aluminum Company (TALCO) reportedly purchased the Dushanbe-based Sozidaniye Business Center and Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel in 2017.  According to some source, TALCO will pay Russian aluminum giant, United Company Russian Aluminum (RusAl), around 150 million U.S. dollars over a 10-year period.
