Transition of Tajikistan’s economy to the digital system is inevitable.  It is the calling of our time.  By taking the right measures the government bodies will create the environment that will be favorable for development of the digital economy in the provinces.

The key factor of the digital transformation of activities of market entities is development of the digital culture. At the present stage of socio-economic transformation of society, the environment has implications for the institutional structure of society causing the need fo formation of fundamentally new concepts and approaches.

Tajikistan is developing the digital economy concept and introduce digital technologies in socioeconomic sectors.

Sifat Innotech Invest Company has reportedly been involved in the development of the digital transformation of the country.

Two working groups (one managing and another one technical) for development of the concept of the digital economy of Tajikistan were set up in February this year.  Public associations have also been involved in the development of the concept of digitalization of the country’s economy.

Established in 2017, the Sifat Innotech Invest Company is engaged in development of innovation projects and introduction of high-tech solutions to promote further development of the country’s economy. The Company plays a leading role in developing software programs for ministries and departments of the country

Meanwhile, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe in April this year organized a study visit for Tajik officials to Armenia.  The purpose of visit was to provide the officials with the opportunity to learn about innovative strategies for economic growth.

A group of six representatives from President’s Executive Office, the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, the State Committee on Investment and the State-owned Property Management, the Administration of Dushanbe City and the Sifat Innotech Invest Company took part in the visit.

The delegation reportedly got acquainted with the benefits of digital platforms and their utilization, which are widening opportunities of infrastructure development.

The digital economy opens up great opportunities for the exchange of information, education, and transparent business.

The government bodies should ensure that rules are respected and deals in the digital space would be as safe and reliable as possible both for business and consumers.

It is to be noted that in Tajikistan, information and communications technologies, albeit at a slow pace, are becoming an organic part of the modern management systems in all sectors of the country’s economy, all spheres of public management, defense, security and ensuring law and order.

Digital Economy refers to an economy that is based on digital technologies.  The digital economy is also sometimes called the Internet Economy, the New Economy, or Web Economy.  Increasingly, the “digital economy” is intertwined with the traditional economy making a clear delineation harder.
