Heads of transport departments of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan discussed further strengthening bilateral cooperation, including the opening of new road transport routes.
The meeting of the Minister of Transport of Tajikistan Azim Ibrokhim with the First Deputy Minister of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov took place in Dushanbe, where the Uzbek official is with the official delegation.
«Issues of further expansion of transport links between the two countries were discussed at the meeting», - the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.
It is noted that the issues of increasing passenger and cargo transportation, cooperation in the railway sector, as well as the opening of new road transport routes were considered. When new transport routes will open - not announced.
The Tajik minister stressed that in recent months, the situation with the coronavirus pandemic has shown the importance of road transport for the socio-economic development of each state.
