Forty-eight countries of the world have provided more than 25.4 million U.S. dollars’ worth of more than 7,700 tons of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan over the first six months of this year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Over the reporting period, among donors countries the greatest share reportedly came from China – 30.8 percent; Russia – 16.8 percent; India – 15.7 percent; the United States – 7.3 percent; Japan – 5.7 percent; South Korea – 4.1 percent; Switzerland and Belgium – 2.9 percent each; Germany – 2.7 percent; the Netherlands – 2.1 percent; Italy – 1.2 percent; and others.
Over the past decade, China has been one of major trading partners of Tajikistan. China is Tajikistan's largest source of investment and the third largest trading partner of Tajikistan following Russia and Kazakhstan. Over the past decade, China's direct investment in Tajikistan has totaled about 1 billion U.S. dollars.
