The steady growth in the inflow of foreign direct investment into the economy of Tajikistan this year does not indicate an improvement in the business environment in the country, but rather reflects the renewed interest of foreign investors in the mining industry of the republic, according to the World Bank report "The economy is recovering, difficulties remain".

It is noted that the inflow of foreign direct investment into the economy of Tajikistan, after last year's fall, in the first half of 2021 increased by 43%.

The authors of the publication emphasize that two-thirds of the direct foreign capital received this year in the republic comes from the mining industry, followed by transport and construction (6-7%).
