More than 100 cooperation contracts have been signed on the sidelines of international trade fair, dubbed Sughd-2021, and economic forum titled “Trade and Investment Opportunities and Prospects of Development of Regions”, which were held in Tajik northern city of Khujand on October 19-20.

Speaking at a press conference in Khujand, deputy governor of Sughd, Anvar Yaqubi, noted on October 20 that the cooperation agreements and memoranda were signed by entrepreneurs of Tajikistan, Russia and Uzbekistan,  

According to him, the event has given its participants an opportunity to share information and take new steps to expand mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation.  

Recall, representatives of more than 200 companies from Tajikistan, Russia and Uzbekistan have participated in the 7th International Fair, dubbed  Sughd-2021.

Representatives of companies from Russia’s Buryatia, Lipetsk, Tver, Samara, Voronezh and Toms oblasts as well as Uzbekistan’s Tashkent, Samarkand, Ferghana and Namangan regions participated in the event.  Tajikistan has been represented by companies from the provinces.

The companies reportedly put on display their achievements in industrial sector and modern technologies at the fair. 

Inaugurating the fair, Sughd governor Rajabboy Ahmadzoda noted that Sughd province had a huge untapped potential and the fair gave the business communities of the countries an opportunity to exchange information and take new effective steps to further expand mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation.

“Last year alone, Sughd produced a total of more than US$1.5 billion worth of industrial goods,” Ahmadzoda noted.
