Tajikistan and Turkiye plan to increase the frequency of flight from Dushanbe to Istanbul.  This issue was discussed at a meeting of Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Sharaf Sheralizoda, and Turkiye’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, Mr. Emre Zeki Karagul, which took place in Dushanbe on June 22. 

The Tajik MFA information department says the parties discussed issues related to further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries as well as the increase of the number of flights between Dushanbe and Istanbul.  

It is to be noted that since June 5, the frequency of service between Dushanbe and Istanbul has increased from two-times weekly to three-times weekly. 

Tajikistan’s privately owned air carrier Somon Air operates this flight on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays and Turkish Airlines operates this Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

According to information posted on Somon Air’s official website, the price for economy class ticket on the flights from Dushanbe to Istanbul will be 337.00 euros and the price for business class ticket on the flights from Dushanbe to Istanbul will be 507.00 euros.

While the economy class and business class tickets on the return flights (from Istanbul to Dushanbe) will cost 280.00 euros and 530 euros.00, respectively. 

Somon Air is the first private airline in Tajikistan with an office headquartered in Dushanbe.  The airline operations are based at Dushanbe International Airport.  The airline started operating on February 5, 2008 with regular flights to Moscow and Dubai.  Somon Air also serves as the official carrier of President of the Republic of Tajikistan and other Tajikistan high-ranking officials.
