A two-level flyover will be built in Dushanbe at the intersection of Saadi Sherozi, Hofiz Sherozi and Abduahad Qahhorov streets, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) says.
An official source at a MoF told Asia-Plus that a loan agreement on this project has been signed between the Government of Tajikistan and the European Bank for reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The document was reported inked here on April 29 by Tajik Finance Minister Faiziddin Qahhorzoda and EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso.
The source says the Bank will provide 28.450 million euros for implementation of this project.
Recall, two three-route flyovers now operate in the Tajik capital. One of them was inaugurated in September 2018 and the second one was inaugurated in October 2020.
A reliable source within the Dushanbe Administration told Asia-Plus in late October 2019 that as a part of the municipal redevelopment plan for Dushanbe, some 20 flyovers will be constructed in Dushanbe by 2030. According to him, the flyovers will be built due to funds provided by the Dushanbe Administration and investments.
Meanwhile, Mr. Faiziddin Qahhorov and Ms. Odile Renaud-Basso on April 29 reportedly also signed an addendum to the agreement on Faizobod water and wastewater project.
According to the EBRD Dushanbe Resident Office, the EBRD and the Swiss government provide € 2.7 million towards the completion of water projects in Faizobod district.
The EBRD is organizing a financial package of up to € 2.7 million for a local utility, Khojagii Manziliyu Kommunali (KMK – the state holding company for public utilities), which will be supplying water to more than 30,000 residents of the Faizobod district. It consists of the Bank’s sovereign loan of up to €1.35 million and a capital grant of €1.35 million anticipated from the Swiss government through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
