DUSHANBE, June 8, Asia-Plus -- Five Tajik students have been severely beaten but a group of Moscow policemen, according to information from the Tajik Embassy in Moscow.

Muhammad Egamzod, press secretary of the Tajik Embassy in Moscow , has told Asia-Plus that a group of Moscow policemen numbering five-six people yesterday burst into a room in the hostel of Russia ’s Management University , where students from Tajikistan live.  They severely beat the Tajik students that were in the room and took away their money and cellular phones.  Five students were hospitalized with various wounds, according to Egamzod.

He says the Moscow prosecutor’s office has instituted criminal proceedings to investigate the matter.  Moscow Prosecutor Anatoly Zuyev has taken the investigation under his own control, Egamzod said.
