According to information the Health Ministry press service, the joint team led by the Deputy Health Minister, Ziyovuddin Afghonov, has prepared the report on assessment of the heath situation in Qumsangir.
The health situation assessment report, in particular, says that the most serious concern is access to clean water in all affected areas. There is a high risk for outbreaks of intestinal infections.
The Ministry of Health and MERLIN delivered basic drug kits for each of the first aid points and polyclinics in the affected areas and monitored health situation and health staff performance at the spot. The assessment team met with the health staff and regional emergency management agency.
According to the source, to tackle the problems and providing assistance to the disaster-affected population MERLIN will deploy four water containers in the settlements No.6 and 8, Rissovkhoz and Zamini Nav. For their part, the Qumsangir emergencies and the local administration have pledged themselves to organize clean water deliveries to fill the containers. Fire-engines will be used for that, according to the source.
Besides, at request of the Ministry of Health MERLIN will restore the tremor-affected medical facility in the Rissovkhoz settlement, the Health Ministry press service said.
