Colonel Saidmukhtor Bekov was 63 years old. He died on May 14 in a hospital in Dushanbe.
Bekov was in the hospital for a week, where he was treated for the diagnosed COVID-19. Five days before his death, his brother, 55-year-old Saigufron, died of the same disease.
Another brother of the deceased - 48-year-old Saidjafar with a diagnosis of coronavirus is now in the hospital.
Saidmukhtor Bekov is known for being detained by employees of the Tajik anti-corruption agency in August 2015 when he received a bribe on an especially large scale. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
At the end of last year was amnestied.
