Five persons, including four minors, were killed being buried alive by a landslide in the Kulob region of the Khatlon province, the Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan reported on July 25.  

The accident reportedly occurred in Sangpar village, Ziraki jamoat, which is subordinate to the city of Kulob.

According to the Committee, they were digging burrows for rabbits in the hill when landslide occurred and buried them alive.   

Through the efforts of local residents, the bodies of the victims were dug up and handed over to their relatives, Umeda Yusufi, a spokeswoman for the Emergencies Committee, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
