DUSHANBE, July 21, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Inspection by officers from the Khatlon anticorruption directorate has revealed serous financial violations in the Panj production cooperative Zohiriyon, press service of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Sharifbek Sharifov, a spokesman for the anticorruption agency, said that the Zohiriyon director Jalol Zoidov had concealed the enterprise’s actual incomes and had not paid taxes to the budget for 348,876 somonis (equivalent to more than $100,000).
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Zoidov under the provisions of Article 291 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code - tax evasion.
