DUSHANBE, August 11, 2016, Asia-plus – A police officer from the northern city of Isfara has got a jail term of 30 years for killing his two colleagues.
Former officer of the special police unit at the Interior Ministry’s office in Isfara, Sabour Khayolov, 34, has been found guilty of killing the special police unit commander Alisher Shekhnazarov and the deputy commander of this special police unit, Mahkam Safarov.
A court in Isfara sentenced him to 30 years in prison on August 9. The sentence followed his conviction on charges of illegal possession of weapons, killing of two and more persons, hooliganism, deliberate destruction or damage of property of others. Khayolov will serve his term in a high-security penal colony.
The incident took place in the village of Khoja Alo on October 19, 2015. Khayolov reportedly shot Shekhnazarov and Safarov to death following quarrel.
