On December 21, 2007, two residents of the northern city of Konibodom – Burhon Ishoqov and Naim Kholmatov – killed an underage girl and burned her body.

The Sughd regional court sentenced Burhon Ishoqov and Naim Kholmatov to 24 year in prison each on April 11, 2018, the press center of the Prosecutor-General’s Office reported on December 22.

The sentence reportedly followed their conviction on charges of murder, theft and deliberate destruction of property.

On December 21, 2017, they penetrated into the house of Askar Rahmatov for the purpose of stealing 700,000 Russian rubles.  When they were seeking for money, Rahmatov’s underage daughter, R. Rahmatova, entered the room.  Realizing that she identified them, Ishoqov and Kholmatov killed her and set fire to the house, the press center said.

After the commitment of the crime, they reportedly fled Tajikistan for Russia.  In the past spring, Russia authorities detained Ishoqov and Kholmatov and extradited them to Tajikistan at the request of the Tajik law enforcement authorities.
