DUSHANBE, March 15, 2011, Asia-Plus - Mr. Pierre Morel, the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia, is arriving in Dushanbe today for a two-day visit, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
Mr. Gunnar Wiegand, Head of Unit for Relations with Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for External Relations, is also arriving in Dushanbe together with Ambassador Morel.
They will take part at an annual meeting to discuss border security and cooperation in Central Asia that is opening here today.
A well-informed source at the government says President Emomali Rahmon will receive Pierre Morel and Gunnar Wiegand today.
