DUSHANBE, April 22, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament), yesterday received visiting members of the France-Central Asia Friendship Group at the Senate of France, led Senator Andre Dulait, Shavkat Saidov, an aide to the Majlisi Milli speaker, told Asia-Plus today.
Tajik parliament speaker noted that implementation of a memorandum on friendship and cooperation signed by the Majlisi Milli and the Senate of France in April 2009 served interests of the parliaments of both countries.
Senator Andre Dulait, for his part, noted that the main purpose of the visit for the delegation was to discuss with Tajik officials issues related to development of parliamentarism in Tajikistan, expansion of trade and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, etc.
French senators invited their Tajik colleagues to pay return visit to France, Saidov added.
